The Lonely Soldier The
lonely soldier fighting his war Reasons are uncertain As he stands alone
on his battlefield His enemy fights beside him He
visits the graves of comrades who've fallen In bloody battles of yesterday
As he wipes a tear from his eye he notices All of the headstones bare his
own name The battle's over but there is no glory
Broken bodies lay everywhere The general gathers his surviving men And
marches him back home Copyright ©
