The Alibi was formed in 2000 by John Botica as a vehicle to have
his original material heard in the pubs and clubs. The best part
of the last eight years since Full Moon Radio had been spent in
various bands as a sideman to ex members of AC/DC, The Masters
Apprentices and the One and only Mr Tiny Tim to name a few.
In this time John had appeared on no less than six albums, two
video clips, performed in the UK, Germany and twice toured South
East Asia promoting an album with the band Good Time Charlie.
Footage from this period can be seen in a documentary titled "The
Comeback Kings" which was still in production around the
time of John's departure from the band.
Throughout much of the above mentioned period John felt as though
he was artistically drowning in quick sand and by no means in
control of his own musical destiny, he therefore decided that the
forming of his own band in order to play and record his 'own music'
was perhaps not a bad option.
The end result is a not too pretty, no frills, musically oriented
rock group, and this is precisely what he wanted! And this is 'John
Botica’s alibi'
